GOOD COMPANY. GREAT GAME. Mahjong is better together.

A LITTLE CARE BEHIND EVERY GUIDE

Made to help
you understand.

Mingos & Mahj publishes free introductory lessons, original tile illustrations, and practice tools for American mahjong beginners. Our focus is play using the National Mah Jongg League card.

What our sources cover

We check rule explanations against the League’s public FAQs and rules resources. Where public material does not explain a detail, we use identified specialist explanations and point readers back to the official card and rulebook. References appear on lessons and guides so you can follow the explanation to its source.

An introduction, with room to grow

These resources cover foundations. They do not replace the current official card, the complete rulebook, or an instructor’s guidance on edge cases. We do not reproduce the League’s annual winning-hand patterns. Mingos & Mahj is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the League.

Original illustrations, familiar clues

Our tile drawings were created for these learning tools. They preserve useful clues such as suit, number, wind symbols, and dragon markings. Physical sets vary in artwork; compare with your own set before play. Flower illustrations are representative rather than a complete set inventory.

Honest local information

Our planned teaching base is Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Nearby city names describe communities we welcome, not additional venues. We publish dates, venue, materials, pricing, and booking terms when those details are confirmed.

Corrections and review

The current beginner content received a source cross-check on September 12, 2026. That is a source review, not NMJL certification or an independent instructor endorsement. When a rule, official clarification, or class detail changes, the affected explanation needs another check.
